Hosting of Senior Officials Meeting of the Conference on Cooperation
among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD)

February 1, 2016

1. Japan will co-host the Senior Officials Meeting of the “Conference on Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD)” with Palestine in Hakone on February 2 and 3, 2016, as a part of efforts toward achieving the Middle East peace.

2. The main objectives of the Conference are to support Palestinian efforts for state building by sharing East Asian countries’ experience in economic development and expertise in assistance to Palestinians among participants, and discussing effective ways of cooperation, so as to promote the Middle East peace process and regional stability.

Feb. 2 (Tuesday) Welcome reception hosted by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan

Feb. 3 (Wednesday) Conference

Prospective participants:

Japan (host), Palestine (co-host), Brunei, Indonesia, Israel, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam, Islamic Development Bank, UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), World Bank
