OPT: Huelva people support the displaced of Nahr El Bared camp

Huelva city has donated USD$13,514 to UNRWA's Emergency Appeal to provide Palestinians affected by the Nahr El-Bared conflict with food parcels.

Thanks to the generous donation of the people of the Huelva through the FAMSI fund, 281 families, displaced from Nahr El Bared, have received food parcels for one month.

Huelva is a city of 146,173 inhabitants located along the Cadiz coast, in Andalusia Spain. FAMSI is the Andalusian Fund of Municipalities for International Solidarity. It is a Coordination Office with the aim to enforce the Humanitarian Action skills towards coordination of actions from several Andalusia municipalities and councils, financial institutions and society in general.

The Fund resources are provided by volunteer fees, membership fees, partner agencies contributions and others as donations. For the donation to Palestinians in Lebanon, the funds were provided exclusively by the Regional Council of Huelva.

On this occasion, beneficiaries who took the food parcels were very impressed by the assistance provided by the people of Huelva, "it shows that we are all brothers and sisters in humanity. Although we are from different parts of the world, we still sympathize with each other", said Abu Khaled, head of a family displaced to Baddawi camp.
