French Ambassador to Syria Visits Yarmouk Camp
Damascus — The Ambassador of France to Syria, HE Mr Eric Chevallier, visited Yarmouk Palestine refugee camp yesterday. Mr Chevallier toured the al-Jalil health centre and met with beneficiaries of UNRWA’s microfinance programme as well as staff and beneficiaries at Yarmouk Community Development Centre B.
The visit concluded with friendly football matches at Yarmouk Stadium between a number of Palestinian refugees from Yarmouk, and French Embassy and UNRWA staff.
Chevallier reaffirmed his government’s support and promised to continue working with UNRWA in ensuring services and aid for Palestinian refugees.
UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, provides education, healthcare, relief and social services, and micro-credit services to over 470,000 Palestine refugees in Syria.
