UAE delivers relief supplies to Palestinian refugees in Lebanon
Beirut – The sixth UAE aid convoy were delivered to Palestinians living in the Badawi refugees camps and its surrounding villages of Al Minyeh, Bahneen in northern Lebanon, The UAE Project for Support and Reconstruction of Lebanon has announced.
The 12-truck relief convoy carried foodstuff, potable water and emergency medical supplies and medicines to Palestinian refugees who have been displaced from Nahr Al Bared refugees camp in Northern Lebanon due to the security situation.
Sources at the Project said the aid had been handed over to Palestinian aid committees in the Badawi Refugee Camp and Displaced Committees at the said Lebanese villages.
According to them, the humanitarian assistance were dispatched to the Palestinian displaced people in implementation of instructions given by President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan as part of UAE efforts to ease hardship of families living there and secure their basic needs. Sheikh Khalifa has also offered USUS$ 5 million in support of the displaced families. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
