UNOG TO HOLD SPECIAL MEETING TO COMMEMORATE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SOLIDARITY WITH PALESTINIAN PEOPLE ON 30 NOVEMBER

The United Nations Office at Geneva will hold a Special Meeting to commemorate the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on Monday, 30 November.

Sergei Ordzhonikidze, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, will open the meeting, reading out the statement of Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations, on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The Special Meeting, held in accordance with General Assembly resolution 32/40B of 2 December 1977, will start at 4 p.m. in Conference Room XIX.

Other speakers in the Special Meeting are the Representative of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People; Representative of the Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories; Representative of the League of Arab States; Representative of the Organization of the Islamic Conference; Representative of the Non-Aligned Movement; Representative of the African Union; Representative of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East; Representative of the Non-Governmental Organizations accredited to the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People; and Palestine.
