HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL CONCLUDES GENERAL DEBATE ON HUMAN RIGHTS SITUATIONS THAT REQUIRE THE COUNCIL’S ATTENTION

The Human Rights Council this afternoon concluded its general debate on human rights situations requiring the Council’s attention.

Palestinian Return Centre Ltd said that more than 3,300 Palestinians in Syria had died from various reasons since the beginning of the conflict. The Government was unwilling to hand over the bodies of the victims of torture, and had forced the families to sign false statements of death, attributing the deaths to natural causes.
International Organization for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination said in a joint statement that Israel’s occupation of Palestine was a glaring example of injustice and double standards still dominating the modern world.

Arab Commission for Human Rights said that…The European Union continued to ignore the situation and refused to tackle violations against the Palestinian people.
