FM Dr. Nasser Al-Kidwa urged Norway for further support to Palestinian people
FM Dr. Nasser Al- Kidwa met yesterday, in his Office in Ramallah, his Norwegian Counterpart Mr. Jan Petersen.
The Ministers discussed the bilateral relations as well as the Norwegian role for further assistance to Palestinian people, especially, in the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee for Assistance to the Palestinians (AHLC), of which Norway the chair.
In a joint press conference after the meeting, Dr. Al-Kidwa urged Norway, International community and donors countries to politically and financially support Palestinian people.
He briefed the minister on the latest measures have been taken by Palestinian Authority to implement Sharm Al-Sheikh Understanding and Road Map.
Dr. Al-Kidwa added the withdrawal plan from Gaza has to be implemented in the context of the road map, the two-state solution must be the basis for lasting and just peace in the region.
He seized the opportunity to express his appreciation to the Norwegian support to the PNA, describing his meeting with the Norwegian minister as fruitful.
For his part, Petersen reiterated the necessity to implement the Road Map peace plan, for it is the right path toward the final-status negotiations
