THE CRISIS IN YARMOUK CAMP
27 MAY 2014
Our spokesperson Chris Gunness has the following to say on the situation in Yarmouk Camp
"There was no UNRWA distribution in Yarmouk on May 27 following distribution of hygiene kits to 1,853 families over the previous three-day period. UNRWA understands that this break is for one day only and is required to strengthen logistical arrangements at the distribution area.
"UNRWA urges all concerned parties to allow for continuous, safe and expanded humanitarian access to be indefinitely ensured, and facilitate the Agency's operations to alleviate the plight of the over 18,000 civilians trapped in Yarmouk."
