OIC Secretary General Welcomes the Release of BBC Correspondent

 

                Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference expressed satisfaction at the release of the journalist Alain Johnston, the correspondent of the BBC, viewing it as an act that serves the Palestinian national objectives, and asserting that facilitating the journalists’ work and not causing them any harm serves the Palestinian just cause.

                The Secretary General of the Organization also renewed his appeal to the Palestinian factions to adhere to the Makkah Agreement and return to dialogue as the way out of the present situation witnessed by the Palestinian people. He further reiterated the need to restore the Palestinian unity on grounds of mutual understanding, concord and a sense of responsibility, as required by the Palestinian cause which is the foremost cause of all Muslims.
