PRESS STATEMENT
Issued by the Secretary General of
the Organization of the Islamic Conference
on Israel’s aggression against the Palestinian people
The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference has expressed deep concern over continued Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, a situation that has spawned daily killing of many Palestinians, destruction of infrastructure as well as financial and economic blockade.
These organized aggression and daily crimes carried out by Israel, the occupying power, are a form of state terrorism and negate the Fourth Geneva Convention and the principles of humanitarian international law, the Secretary General maintained.
He therefore called for the immediate intervention of the permanent members of the Security Council, the Secretary General of the United Nations and members of the Quartet to stop these Israeli crimes and illegal practices.
The secretary General once again reiterated the need for efforts to implement the Road map, to end Israel’s occupation of Palestinian lands seized since 1967, and to enable the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital.
