PRESS RELEASE
THE OIC SECRETARY-GENERAL CONDEMNS ISRAELI AGGRESSION ON GAZA STRIP
Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, is following with grave concern the dangerous developments in the occupied Palestinian territories as a result of Israel’s demolition of many civil facilities, including bridges and electric power stations, in addition to the provocative preparations it is making to carry out a wide aggression on Gaza Strip.
Condemning these illegal aggressive practices, the Secretary-General warns against the dangerous implications of Israel’s invasion of Gaza Strip, considering it as a crime, an iniquitous aggression and a flagrant violation of the international law, which would bring about huge losses among innocent Palestinian citizens, and would further aggravate the humanitarian disaster lived by the Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Secretary-General appealed to the Quartet and the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council to intervene immediately in order to put an end to the Israeli aggression and to address through diplomatic channels the crisis caused by the capture of the Israeli soldier.
