The Secretary-General and President Obama discussed yesterday, 21 September 2011, current developments in the Middle East and North Africa, notably the Middle East peace process, Libya and Syria. The Secretary-General thanked the President for his support to peacekeeping operations around the world and encouraged ongoing support. They also exchanged views regarding the situation in Somalia, food security and UN reform.
