President Putin meets with PA President Abbas – Kremlin press release/Non-UN document (excerpts)

Russia has always been a reliable and consistent friend of the Palestinian people.

During the meeting with the head of the Palestinian National Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, Vladimir Putin said he was happy to have this opportunity to discuss the actual problems facing the Palestinian people and the various ways that Russia could provide assistance.

At the meeting, which took place in the President's Bocharov Ruchei residence in Sochi, they looked at the various ways to restore dialogue concerning key aspects of the Palestinian-Israeli settlement and how to best implement the provisions of the Road Map.

They also discussed bilateral cooperation including helping Palestine resolve various social and humanitarian problems.
