Source: Press Office – Minister's Cabinet
29 December 2009…
Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit stated that the Israeli decision to build new settlement units in East Jerusalem hinders the efforts to resume the negotiation process, which aims at establishing the independent Palestinian State, with Jerusalem as its capital.
Aboul Gheit said that this attitude questions the Israeli seriousness to reach a final settlement. He added that such a declaration affirms the impression of the weakening Israeli will to reach permanent peace founded on just basis, and indicates a relentless endeavor to avoid any obligations imposed by this peace on the Israeli side.
