Statement of
The Euro-Mediterranean
Parliamentary Assembly Bureau
On
the Israeli Aggression against the village of Beit Hanoun in Gaza
The Euro Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly Bureau, with regard to the cruel attack of Israeli Forces on November, 8, 2006 against the village of Beit Hanoun in Gaza:
– Is extremely upset and scandalized by the great number of victims among Palestinian Civilians.
– Condemns this inhuman act and considers that it represents a dangerous escalation and a glaring violation of international laws and conventions.
– Calls on all engaging voices and mainly the United Nations Security Council and the Quartet to protect Palestinian civilians and to take all necessary measures in order to enforce the humanitarian international law.
– Calls on all concerned sides to have self-control and to carry on with political dialogue so as to set up security and stability in the Middle East and put an end to the region people’s sufferings.
-Underlines that acts of terrorism just as bombardments either by shells or by rockets increase the spiral of violence and hinder the renewal of political dialogue that constitutes the only possible solution for Israeli and Palestinian Peoples.
