Additional funding from Sweden worth USD 3.8 million in support of displaced non-refugees in Gaza

Jerusalem, 25 March 2015 – The Government of Sweden and UNDP’s Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People signed a USD 3.8 million (SEK 33,000,000) agreement to fund shelter assistance packages for non-refugees as part of their on-going support to early recovery efforts in the Gaza Strip. Through the new contribution, 2,529 non-refugee families will receive rental subsidies to support their accommodation need.
The additional resources will bring the total Swedish contribution to the UNDP cash assistance programme to atleast USD 6.9 million.
