(3) Occupied Palestinian Territories 

(a) In light of the Jewish New Year, access restrictions were imposed on the West Bank.

(b) The start of Ramadan and the Jewish New Year marked a slight easing to the security situation in Gaza Strip; WFP staff movements remain limited. Karni terminal and Rafah crossing remain closed, hampering the flow of WFP commodities into Gaza Strip. All national staff remains prevented from crossing Erez border point however limited essential International staff are still allowed to cross.

(c) Under the new Protracted Relief and Recovery Operation (PRRO) 10387, which started in September, WFP continued deliveries to the Ministry of Social Affairs in the West Bank for September and October allocations. Distribution will commence following the signature of letters of agreement.

(d) In the Gaza Strip, a total of 707 mt of WFP commodities were distributed -, through the Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture and CHF- to 1,388 social hardship case and new poor families (6495 beneficiaries).
