Readout of Secretary Kerry's Call with Prime Minister Netanyahu

Secretary Kerry had a constructive conversation with Prime Minister Netanyahu today about how best to end the recent wave of violence, and to offer U.S. support for efforts to restore calm as soon as possible. The Secretary reiterated his public comments from yesterday, including our strong condemnation of terrorist attacks against innocent civilians and support for Israel’s right to defend its citizens. The Secretary made clear that he will continue to follow the situation closely and that the U.S. will remain engaged in efforts to restore calm. They also discussed plans for a meeting in Europe in the near future.
