13.05.2012 – Deputy Special Representative of Operations, Mr. Khaled Shahwan, participated in the graduation of 40 students from the Rosary school in Jerusalem after they completed a dynamic programme on the principles, laws and conventions of human rights. The ceremony included speeches by the headmaster and UNDP Deputy Special Representative (O) and a presentation by the students summarizing what they have learned in the areas of human rights, child rights, discrimination against women, torture, refugees, human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory and the rights of minority. “Continue learning and gaining knowledge because this is what will benefit you in the future. I am proud to hear that our students are well informed about the UN and the international laws and conventions" said Khaled Shahwan, UNDP Deputy Special Representative of Operations.
