Letter dated 12 November 2009 from the Permanent Observer Mission of Palestine to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General
I have the honour to inform you that on 10 November 2009, the Cabinet of the Palestinian National Authority, at its weekly meeting in Ramallah which was chaired by Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, issued the following statement on the Report of the United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict (the Goldstone Report):
“The Cabinet welcomes the adoption of the Goldstone Report by the United Nations General Assembly by a large majority and the request to the Secretary-General to transmit it to the Security Council. It expresses its gratitude and appreciation to all the States that voted for the resolution and calls on the Security Council to adopt the Report and remain fully seized of the matter until all appropriate and necessary measures have been taken at the local and international levels. The Cabinet calls for implementation of the Report’s recommendations and affirms the readiness of the Palestinian Authority to do all that has been requested of it in that regard.”
I should be grateful if you would have this letter circulated as a document of the sixty-fourth session of the General Assembly, under agenda items 16 and 64, and of the Security Council.
