Attack on Mount Scopus – SecGen letter to SecCo President

LETTER DATED 29 MAY 1958 FROM THE SECRETARY-GENERAL ADDRESSED

TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE SECURITY COUNCIL

In view of the communication regarding the recent incident on Mount Scopus which you have received from the Delegation of Israel, I wish to inform you that, as I stated to the press, Monday, 26 May 1958, I immediately requested the Chief of Staff to report urgently onall the circumstances surrounding the incident, in particular the death of Colonel Flint.

On completion of the investigations of UNTSO such a report will be transmitted to the Council for circulation among its members.
