on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian

People addressed to the Secretary-General

As Chairman of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, I wish to draw your attention to the attached extract from Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for 1989 published by the Department of State of the United States of America, which contains information on the situation concerning human rights in the Palestinian and other Arab territories occupied by Israel since 1967.  In view of the importance of this information, the Committee, at its 169th meeting on 2 March 1990, decided to request that this extract should be issued as an official document of the General Assembly, under items 23 and 77 of the preliminary list, and of the Security Council.  I therefore have the honour to convey to you the Committee's request.
