QUESTION OF THE VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN THE

OCCUPIED ARAB TERRITORIES, INCLUDING PALESTINE

Letter dated 24 October 2001 from the Permanent Observer for Palestine

to the United Nations Office at Geneva addressed to the United Nations

High Commissioner for Human Rights

The Israeli occupation forces have committed yet another massacre to be added to the long list of their massacres against the Palestinian people.

At 2 a.m. today, the Israeli occupation forces stormed into Beit Rima town, armed to the teeth, opening artillery fire against centres of the National Security and residential homes, killing 10 Palestinians and wounding several others.

In addition, and as they always do when they perpetrate their massacres and put under curfew Palestinian areas, the Israeli occupation forces have forbidden access of ambulances to the town to rescue the wounded who are still desperately trying to reach hospitals.

I would be grateful if you would have this letter distributed as an official document of the fifty-eighth session of the Commission on Human Rights under agenda item 8.
