Letter dated 11 March 2005 from the Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General
Upon instructions from my Government, I wish to refer to the letters of 11 January 2005 (A/59/667-S/2005/14) and 28 February 2005 (A/59/717-S/2005/130) and a number of other preceding letters from the representative of the Israeli regime which contain allegations against my country.
The Islamic Republic of Iran categorically rejects the baseless and unsubstantiated allegations raised in the aforementioned letters and considers them as deliberate attempts to distract the international community’s attention from the Israeli regime’s acts of state terrorism, war crimes and aggression that have persistently threatened peace and security in the region for so many decades.
The impunity with which Israel has been allowed to carry out its dangerous policies has emboldened it to continue its atrocities unabated. The international community should, therefore, take effective measures to put an end to the countless Israeli crimes in order to restore peace and security in the Middle East region.
I should be grateful if you would have this letter circulated as a document of the General Assembly, under agenda items 36 and 148, and of the Security Council.
(Signed ) Mehdi Danesh-Yazdi
Ambassador
