Administrative Detention in Israeli jails, an International Crime

The Palestinians administrative detainees in Israeli prisons started a hunger strike. According to official sources, 180 out of 5,243 Palestinian and Arab prisoners in Israeli jails are in administrative detention, including 18 women and 196 children.

Administrative detention is the most egregious violations of human rights, a policy pursued by the Israeli authorities since the first day of the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip based on the state of emergency imposed by the British Mandate in 1945.

Administrative detention is to keep the Palestinian people in detention centers without charge or trial, but the renewal of detention for years in against all international laws, in which the number of detained Palestinians has reached to more than 21,000 cases since the Al-Aqsa Intifada in which women and children as well as doctors are among detainees, just for the reason of protesting continued occupation.

In addition to the policy of administrative detention, since their arrest, they have been subjected to human rights violation in both, the customs and laws, arbitrary arrests, ill-treatment, violations of children's rights, systematic torture, detention and deportation of prisoners of Representatives and re- arrested, and the longest sentences in the world.

All this is happening in the world and remained silent indifference toward the most heinous violation of human rights in modern history. It's requires of all the living forces, human rights and humanity in the world to denounce the crime of administrative detention in Israel and constantly detention of thousands of Palestinians in its jails.

We call on the Human Rights Council at its 26th session, to consider the issue of administrative detention of Palestinians, and we call on the Palestinian Authority after the signing of a number of international conventions to organize a global campaign and make a complaint against Israel's policy on administrative detention which is international crime and against humanity.

We also call on all human rights activist thought the world to raise their voices and raise their protest against this international crime; Israel government should also release all detainees in its jails and private administrator detention centres, unconditionally.
