Draft resolution on the human rights situation in southern Lebanon and West Bakaa (E/CN.4/1998/L.80)

 

17.  Mr. BAATI (Tunisia), introducing the draft resolution, said that, in the first line of the penultimate preambular paragraph, the words “handed down” should be replaced by the words “made public”.

 

18.  Mrs. KLEIN (Secretary of the Commission) said that the delegation of Pakistan had become a sponsor of the draft resolution.

 

19.  The CHAIRMAN said he had the impression that the delegation of the United States of America wished the draft resolution to be put to the vote.

 

20.   At the request of the representative of Tunisia, the vote was taken by roll­call.

 

21.   Poland, having been drawn by lot by the Chairman, was called upon to vote first.
