Mideast situation/Palestine question – SecCo meeting with OIC – Letter from Malaysia

Letter dated 24 November 2000 from the Chargé d’affaires a.i.
of the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations
addressed to the President of the Security Council
I have the honour to refer to the letter dated 22 November 2000 from the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council (S/2000/1111), requesting an urgent meeting of the Security Council with the Ministerial Committee of the Organization of the Islamic Conference to consider the deteriorating situation in Palestine, on Monday, 27 November 2000. Malaysia, as a member of the delegation of the Ministerial Committee of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, fully supports the request that has been made by the Permanent Representative of Qatar. In this regard, I would be very grateful if you could kindly make the necessary arrangements for the convening of that meeting.
(Signed) Mohammad Kamal Yahaya
Chargé d’affaires, a.i.
Deputy Permanent Representative
