Letter dated 3 April 1989 from the Chairman of the Committee
on the exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian
People addressed to the Secretary-General
In my capacity as Chairman of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People I wish to draw your attention to the enclosed excerpt from the Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for 1988 issued by the United States Department of State, which contains information on the human rights situation in the Palestinian and other Arab territories occupied by Israel since 1967. In view of the importance of this information, the Committee, at its 162nd meeting, held on 10 March 1989, decided to request that it be issued as an official document of the General Assembly, under items 39 and 78 of the provisional list, and of the Security Council. I therefore have the honour to convey the Committee's request.
(Signed) Absa Claude DIALLO
Chairman

of the Inalienable Rights
