Letter dated 29 March 2005 from the Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General

On instructions from my Government, I have the honour to inform you that the Lebanese Government approves the decision of the Security Council concerning the establishment of an international commission of inquiry into the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Al-Hariri, and that it is ready to cooperate with the commission within the framework of Lebanese sovereignty and of its legal system.

I should be grateful if you would arrange for the text of this letter to be circulated as a document of the General Assembly, under agenda item 36, and of the Security Council.

(Signed) Ibrahim Assaf
