Letter dated 27 June 2000 from the Permanent Representative

of Lebanon to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General

On instructions from my Government and further to our earlier letters concerning Israel's attacks on southern Lebanon and the Western Bekaa and the arbitrary practices against the civilian inhabitants in which it engages on a daily basis, I have the honour to notify you of the series of such incidents that took place in May 2000.

1 May 2000

Between 0030 and 0530 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar rounds at outlying areas of Mayfadun, Wadi Kafra, the vicinity of Sujud town and Wadi al-Kafur from their positions at Shurayfah hill and Zafatah.

Between 0100 and 0600 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar rounds and directed bursts of medium-weapons fire at outlying areas of Kafr Tibnit and Kafr Rumman, at areas along the Zahrani river and at Jabal al-Rafi' from its positions at Abu Qamhah, Zafatah, Razlan hill and Burj hill.

Between 0810 and 1110 hours Israeli warplanes overflew all parts of Lebanon at very high altitudes, breaking the sound barrier.

Between 1330 and 1400 hours an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft overflew the South and the Western Bekaa at very high altitude.

Between 2025 and 2315 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar rounds at Jabal Bir al-Dahr and Jabal Abu Rashid, at outlying areas of Mayfadun and Kafr Rumman, at the Yuhmur lowland and at areas along the Zahrani river from their positions at Zafatah and Abu Qamhah.

Between 2215 and 2245 hours an Israeli occupation forces gunboat off the Quiaylah lowland fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire in all directions.

2 May 2000

Between 0000 and 0130 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 18 120-mm mortar rounds at Jabal Jabbur from its position at Abu Qamhah.

Between 0115 and 0430 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar rounds and directed a number of bursts of medium-weapons fire at the Yuhmur lowland and outlying areas of Mayfadun from their positions at Zafatah and Ali al-Tahir.

Between 0435 and 0530 hours an Israeli gunboat off Mansuri fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire in all directions.

Between 0700 and 1145 hours an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft and Israeli warplanes overflew the South and Mount Lebanon.

Between 0720 and 1230 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia in positions at Zafatah, Suwayda, Burj, Ali al-Tahir, Shurayfah and the Kafr Tibnit crossing fired several 155-mm artillery shells, 120-mm mortar rounds and direct-fire rounds and directed a number of bursts of medium- and light-weapons fire at Jabal al-Rafi', areas around the aforesaid positions, Mazra'at Uqmata, outlying areas of Kafr Rumman and areas along the Tasah spring.

Between 0950 and 1030 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several artillery shells and directed bursts of medium-machine-gun fire at the outskirts of Bra'shit from its position at Ba'lul hill.  One resident, Husayn Abd Allah Farhat, was injured.

At 1910 hours Israeli warplanes attacked outlying areas of Yatar, firing two air-to-surface missiles.

Between 2000 and 2350 hours the Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar rounds and directed a number of bursts of medium-weapons fire at outlying areas of Majdal Zun, Mansuri, Jba', Mazra'at Uqmata, areas along the Tasah spring, Jabal al-Rafi', the vicinity of the Hamra crossing and the area around Dabshah hill from their positions at Tall Ya'qub, Shurayfah, Zafatah, the Hamra crossing and Dabshah.

3 May 2000

Between 0030 and 0630 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia and Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar rounds and directed a number of bursts of medium-weapons fire at Mazra'at Uqmata and outlying areas of Kafr Rumman from their positions at Zafatah, Suwayda hill, Tahrah hill and Dabshah hill.

Between 0230 and 0610 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 27 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar rounds and directed bursts of medium-weapons fire at Jabal al-Ruhban, the western side of Jabal Jabbur, the Mimis ridge, Wadi al-Fatir and Jabal Bir al-Dahr from its positions at Abu Qamhah, Ahmadiyah hill and Zimriya.

At 1420 hours Israeli warplanes attacked Habbush.  A number of civilian residents were injured, namely:  Abbas Muhammad Hasan; Ahmad Hasan Hariri, his wife, Amirah Shahbur, and his sons, Abd Allah, 13, Ahmad, 12, andLu'ayy, 9; Zayn al-Abidin (a one-month-old infant) and Batui Hariri; Patimah Hallal; and Jamilah Makki.  A number of dwellings and vehicles were also damaged in the bombing.

4 May 2000

Between 0010 and 0110 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the South at very high altitudes.

Between 0050 and 0620 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Yuhmur, Tibnin and Jba'  from their positions at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint and Shurayfah.

At 0050 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at the Qatrani townships from their position at Shurayfah.  The home of an 80-year-old woman, Almazah Mas'ud Paris, was hit, and she and her 40-year-old daughter Ilham were killed.

At 0215 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the Brital-Ba'labakk road, firing two air-to-surface missiles.

Between 0225 and 0410 hours Israeli warplanes attacked outlying areas of Sawwanah and Kafr Dunin, firing six air-to-surface missiles.

Between 0215 and 0405 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the Dayr Ammar power station in Tripoli, North governorate, firing six air-to-surface missiles.  The building was seriously damaged and one citizen, Dawud Fawwaz, was injured.

Between 0235 and 0335 hours Israeli warplanes and helicopters attacked the electricity transformer station in Arabsalim.  It was set on fire, and five of the six transformers were destroyed.

At 0315 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the Beirut-Damascus international highway in the Ta'nayil area, firing one air-to-surface missile.  The road was cut as a result.

Between 1630 and 1800 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Mayfadun, Yatar, Jibal al-Butm, Zibqin, Majdal Zun, Izziyah and Wadi al-Qaysiyah from their positions at Shurayfah,  the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint, Zafatah, the Tayyibah project and Tall Ya'qub.

Between 1855 and 1930 hours Israeli warplanes attacked outlying areas of Sultaniyah, Dayr Antar and Kafr Rumman, firing five air-to-surface missiles. Electricity lines were damaged, and the supply of electricity to these and neighbouring villages was disrupted.

Between 1925 and 1955 hours Israeli warplanes again attacked outlying areas of Shihabiyah, Dayr Antar and Kafr Dunin, firing six air-to-surface missiles.

Between 2005 and 2235 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Dayr Antar, Kafr Dunin, Shaqra, Mayfadun, Jibal al-Butm, Zibqin, Majdal Zun and their outskirts and at Wadi al-Qaysiyah and Wadi al-Kafur from their positions at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint, Markaba, Tall Ya'qub, Zafatah and the Tayyibah project.  Israeli warplanes also overflew the South at high altitudes.

5 May 2000

Between 0130 and 0615 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired seven 120-mm mortar rounds at Jabal Jabbur from its positions at Abu Qamhah and Ahmadiyah hill.

Between 0730 and 0800 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the South at high altitudes.

Between 1035 and 1100 hours Israeli warplanes attacked outlying areas of Dayr Kifa, Kafr Dunin and Wadi al-Qaysiyah, firing three air-to-surface missiles.

At 1050 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia directed a number of bursts of medium- and light-weapons fire at Mimis from its position at Zimriya hill.

At 1040 hours Israeli warplanes attacked outlying areas of Shu'aytiyah, Jibal al-Butm and Zibqin, firing three air-to-surface missiles.

7 May 2000

Between 0430 and 0510 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired nine 120-mm mortar rounds at areas along the Zahrani river from its position at Abu Qamhah.

At 0500 hours Israeli gunboat off Mansuri fired several bursts of miscellaneous-weapons fire in all directions.

Between 2230 and 2305 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired eight 155-mm and 130-mm artillery shells at Jabal Jabbur from their positions at Shurayfah and Abu Qamhah.

Between 2005 and 2330 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the South, the Western Bekaa and the Nabatiyah area at various altitudes.

8 May 2000

Between 0000 and 0050 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 12 120-mm mortar rounds at Jabal Jabbur from its position at Ahmadiyah.

Between 0555 and 0640 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 23 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar rounds and directed a number of bursts of miscellaneous-weapons fire at outlying areas of Jibal al-Butm, Zibqin, Majdal Zun and Izziyah from their positions at Tall Ya'qub, Shama' and Hardhun.

Between 1230 and 1235 hours Israeli occupation forces fired four 155-mm artillery shells at Wadi al-Qaysiyah from their position at Markaba.

Between 1250 and 1255 hours Israeli warplanes attacked Wadi al-Qaysiyah, firing two air-to-surface missiles.

Between 1600 and 1650 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several direct-fire rounds and directed a number of bursts of medium- and light-weapons fire at Mazra'at Uqmata, at areas along the Zahrani river, at outlying areas of Arabsalim and Humin al-Fawqa, at Wadi al-Kafur, at the Habbush-Arabsalim road and at areas around Sujud hill and Razlan hill from their positions at Shurayfah, Zafatah and Rayhan.

Between 1810 and 1825 hours Israeli warplanes attacked Wadi al-Qaysiyah, areas along the Zahrani river and outlying areas of Habbush and Arabsalim, firing nine air-to-surface missiles.  In the Wadi al-Qaysiyah area the home of Mahmud Ala' al-Din was damaged.

Between 2045 and 2115 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells at areas along the Zahrani river, at outlying areas of Majdal Zun, Zibqin, Izziyah, Mlikh and Luwayzah and at the abandoned Army barracks in Nabatiyah from their positions at Razlan hill, Zafatah and Tall Ya'qub.

9 May 2000

At 0135 hours the Murabba'ah area between Jibshit and Shukin came under Israeli 155-mm artillery fire from the Zafatah position.

At 0200 hours the Sawwanah area, between Qa'qa'iyat al-Jisr and Zawtar, came under Israeli artillery fire from the position at Qal'at al-Shaqif Arnun (Beaufort Castle).

At 0530 hours the outskirts of Tibnin and Bra'shit and the Jabal al-Za'tar area came under Israeli 155-mm artillery fire.

At 0600 hours the area between Zibqin and Shu'aytiyah came under artillery fire from Israeli occupation forces.

At 0605 hours it was reported that Israeli 155-mm artillery fire was targeting the Murabba'ah area between Jibshit and Shukin.

At 0700 hours the outskirts of Majdal Silm and Khirbat Silm and the Wadi al-Qaysiyah area came under Israeli artillery fire.

At 0705 hours the Wadi Ayn al-Fa'ur area, between Jibshit and Harun, came under 155-mm artillery fire from Israeli occupation forces positions.

At 0710 hours the outskirts of Habbush and Harat al-Sahl came under Israeli artillery fire.  The Kassarah area and the easternmost neighbourhood of Kafr Rumman also came under Israeli artillery fire- and was subjected to intense sniper fire from the Israeli occupation positions at Tahrah and Dabshah.

At 0720 hours several 155-mm artillery shells fired from the Israeli occupation positions at Zafatah impacted on the Habbush-Arabsalim road.

Between 0930 and 1050 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the South and Mount Lebanon at very high altitudes.

Between 0130 and 0600 hours occupation forces fired 155-mm artillery shells and 81-mm and 120-mm mortar rounds at the Yuhmur lowland, Mazra'at al-Hamra, Wadi al-Kafur, areas along the Zahrani river and outlying areas of Zibqin, Majdal Zun and Mansuri from Mayfadun, Quiaylah and Majdal Zun.

10 May 2000

Between 0500 and 0600 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells at Mazra'at Uqmata, the Habbush bridge and areas around Arabsalim and Kafr Rumman from its positions at Suwayda hill and Razlan hill.

At 0700 hours occupying Israeli forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 81-mm and 120-mm mortar rounds and directed bursts of medium-weapons fire at areas along the Zahrani river and outlying areas of Jibshit, Shukin and Kafr Rumman from Suwayda hill, Tahrah hill and Dabshah hill and from Zafatah and Tall al-Ibad.

Between 0700 and 0710 hours occupying Israeli forces fired six 155-mm artillery shells at Wadi al-Qaysiyah from their position at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint.

Between 0710 and 0715 hours elements of the Lahad collaborators' militia fired six 120-mm mortar rounds at an area beyond Jabal Bir al-Dahr from their position at Abu Qamhah.

At 0915 hours an Israeli gunboat off Tyre fired several bursts of fire at two fishing boats and destroyed their nets.

Between 0945 and 1055 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar rounds at areas along the Zahrani river towards Habbush and Jawhariyah and at outlying areas of Mayfadun from its position at Zafatah.

Between 1105 and 1140 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia strafed areas around its post in Ba'labakk with medium-machine-gun fire.

At 1415 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 12 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Yatar, Jibal al-Butm and Zibqin from its position at Tall Ya'qub.

Between 1455 and 1510 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired four 120-mm mortar rounds at Jabal al-Dahr and areas along the Litani river from inside the occupied strip.

At 1500 hours Jabal Bir al-Dahr and areas along the Litani river came under Israeli shelling from Abu Qamhah.

At 1545 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the Tyre area at very high altitudes.

At 1555 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired seven mortar rounds at outlying areas of Yarin from its position in the town itself and Israeli warplanes overflew the central sector at very high altitudes.

Between 1725 and 1745 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia and Israeli occupation forces fired two 81-mm mortar rounds and three 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Qabrikha and Tulin from their positions at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint.

At 1915 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia directed bursts of medium-weapons fire at Dallafah from Ahmadiyah hill.  A balloon was seen over Ahmadiyah hill.

Between 1930 and 2050 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia and Israeli forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells and mortar rounds and directed bursts of fire at outlying areas of Majdal Zun, Mansuri, Bra'shit, Tibnin and Ayta al-Jabal and their outskirts from their positions at Hardhun hill. Tall Ya'qub, Saff al-Hawwa' , the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint, B'alul hill and Bayt Yahun.

Between 2000 and 2210 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several artillery shells and mortar rounds at Wadi al-Qaysiyah, at outlying areas of Jba', Jibal al-Butm, Zibqin and Shu'aytiyah and at areas along the Tasah river from their positions at Tall Ya'qub, Zafatah, Rayhan and the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint.  They also fired several rounds at the Yuhmur lowland, at Arnun and Mayfadun, at areas along the Zahrani river and at the area around Suwayda hill from their positions at Tall al-Ibad and Zafatah.

Between 2145 and 2155 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired nine shells at an area west of Jabal Jabbur from Ahmadiyah hill.

At 1930 hours some three shells fired from the occupied strip impacted in an area south of Dallafah.

At 2120 hours two Israeli helicopters overflew the occupation's positions at Izziyah.

At 2140 hours two Israeli helicopters bombarded the outskirts of Arnun.

At 2120 hours the outskirts of Jba', Mazra'at Uqmata, Luwayzah and Mlita came under Israeli artillery fire from the occupation's position at Zafatah.

At 2200 hours the Jabal Safi and Rayhan areas came under artillery fire from Israeli occupation forces.

11 May 2000

Between 0000 and 0625 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 26 120-mm mortar rounds at the western side of Jabal Jabbur from its positions at Ahmadiyah hill and Abu Qamhah.

Between 0000 and 0730 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia and Israeli occupation forces in positions at Zafatah and Qal'at al-Shaqif (Beaufort Castle) fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar rounds and directed a number of bursts of medium-weapons fire at outlying areas of Luwayzah and Jba' and areas around the castle itself.

At 0445 hours an Israeli gunboat off Mansuri fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire in all directions.

Between 0725 and 0740 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired four 155-mm artillery shells and 10 81-mm and 120-mm mortar rounds and directed a number of bursts of fire at outlying areas of Kafra, Haddatha and Yatar and at their outskirts from their positions at Tall Ya'qub, Shal'abun hill, Ruways and Jabal Hamid.

Between 1000 and 1025 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the North and the Western Bekaa at very high altitudes.

Between 0955 and 1415 hours Israeli warplanes overflew all parts of Lebanon at very high altitudes, breaking the sound barrier in the Bekaa area.

At 1215 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia at Ahmadiyah hill fired 12 81-mm mortar rounds at the Dallafah spring and directed a number of bursts of fire at areas around the hill itself.

Between 1015 and 1530 hours Israeli warplanes and an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft overflew the South at very high altitudes, breaking the sound barrier over Nabatiyah.

At 1430 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 10 120-mm and 81-mm mortar rounds and directed a number of bursts of medium-weapons fire at outlying areas of Bra'shit, Jabal al-Ra'd and outlying areas of Tibnit from Ba'lul hill, south of Bra'shit, and Bayt Yahun.

At 1020 hours Israeli warplanes overflew Rashayya and Iqlim al-Kharrub at very high altitudes.

At 1050 hours Israeli warplanes overflew Mabatiyah.

At 1050 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia strafed Kafra.  One woman, Manal Qasim Husayn Talib, was injured.

At 1430 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia and Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar rounds at areas around Razlan hill, outlying areas of Sujud, Mazra'at Uqmata and outlying areas of Luwayzah from their positions at Shurayfah and the Ayshiyah barracks.

At 1450 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several shells at the outskirts of Bra'shit from their positions in the occupied strip.  They also strafed the area around the town with machine-gun fire.

At 1500 hours Israeli warplanes overflew Iqlim al-Kharrub, Nabatiyah, the Western Bekaa,  Hirmil,  Ba'labakk,  Rashayya and Qal'at al-Shaqif  (Beaufort Castle).

At 1600 hours the Rayhan heights and Bi'r Kilab came under intense artillery fire because of exchanges between the Resistance and Israeli occupation forces at the heavy artillery emplacements in Zafatah.

At 1605 hours Mazra'at Uqmata, Luwayzah and areas along the Zahrani river came under Israeli artillery fire from positions in the occupied strip.

At 1750 hours Israeli occupation forces in the occupied strip directed bursts of intense fire at the outskirts of Kafra and Yatar.

At 1915 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia and Israeli occupation forces fired 16 155-mm artillery shells and three 81-mm mortar rounds at outlying areas of Qabrikha and Yatar and at Wadi al-Qaysiyah from their positions at Tall Ya'qub, Markaba and Muhaysibat.

Between 1950 and 2150 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Yatar, Jibal al-Butm, Majdal Zun, Mlikh, Zawtar al-Gharbiyah, Qa'qa'iyat al-Jisr and at the Yuhmur lowland, the area around Mazra'at al-Hamra and areas along the Tasah spring from their positions at Tall Ya'qub, Zafatah and Shurayfah.

Between 2000 and 2200 hours five Israeli gunboats and two Israeli warships were observed out at sea patrolling the coast between Ra's al-Naqurah and Mansuri.  The two warships launched several illumination flares and directed a number of bursts of medium-weapons fire in all directions.

Between 2100 and 2200 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the South at very high altitudes.

At 1925 hours a number of shells fired from positions in the occupied strip impacted in the Wadi al-Qaysiyah area.

At 1930 hours Israeli warships were patrolling along the coast between Mansuri and Quiaylah.

At 1950 hours several artillery shells fired from positions in the occupied strip impacted in the outskirts of Kafra and Yatar.

At 2005 hours a number of shells fired from occupation positions impacted in the Wadi al-Qaysiyah area.

At 2020 hours the Sawwan area and Murabba'ah came under artillery fire from occupation positions.

At 2035 hours the Hamra area came under Israeli artillery fire. At 2100 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the central sector.

At 2110 hours Israeli warships launched illumination flares and directed bursts of fire at the shore at Quylaylah and Hinniyah.  Two Israeli helicopters also overflew the same area.

Between 1255 and 1310 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at Mazra'at Uqmata from their positions at Shurayfah hill.

Between 1415 and 1430 hours Israeli warplanes attacked Mazra'at Uqmata and outlying areas of Jba', firing three air-to-surface missiles.

Between 1720 and 1735 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Mlikh and at Razlan hill and Jba' from their position at Shurayfah hill.

At 1735 hours Mlita hill, outlying areas of Jba' and the Iqlim al-Tuff ah heights came under heavy artillery fire from Israeli occupation forces positions in the occupied border strip.

Between 1730 and 2035 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 81-mm and 120-mm mortar rounds at areas along the Zahrani river, Mazra'at Uqmata and the area around Jabal Jabbur from their positions at Zafatah, Shurayfah hill and Dabshah hill.  The militia also fired an 81-mm mortar round at the eastern outskirts of Habbush from its position at Suwayda hill.  It hit an occupied dwelling belonging to Fawzi Husayn Makki, causing serious damage but no loss of life.

At 2015 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired nine 81-mm and 120-mm mortar rounds at outlying areas of Zibqin and Majdal Zun from its positions at Shama' and Rajmin hill.

At 2100 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the villages along the border strip and in the Tyre area.  They carried out mock attacks in the Quiaylah and Mansuri areas.

At 2150 hours outlying areas of Luwayzah, areas along the Zahrani river, Mazra'at Uqmata, the Sujud heights and outlying areas of Jba' came under Israeli artillery fire from positions in the occupied strip.

At 2335 hours occupying Israeli forces shelled Wadi al-Qaysiyah and the outskirts of Jumayjimah with heavy artillery from the occupied strip.

12 May 2000

At 0030 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired five 120-mm mortar rounds at the western side of Jabal Jabbur from inside the occupied strip.

At 0045 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Jba' from its position at Zafatah.

At 0025 hours Israeli warplanes attacked Wadi al-Qaysiyah.

At 0050 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia and Israeli occupation forces strafed the areas around their positions at Qal'at al-Shaqif (Beaufort Castle), Dabshah hill and Ali al-Tahir hill with medium-weapons fire.

Between 0100 and 0445 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired four 120-mm mortar rounds and directed a number of bursts of medium-weapons fire at an area west of Jabbur and the area around the Ayn Qinya position from its positions at Ayn Qinya and Ahmadiyah hill.

At 2135 hours the Sawwan area between Zawtar al-Gharbiyah and Qa'qa'iyat al-Jisr came under Israeli artillery fire from the occupation position at Zafatah.

At 2215 hours the outskirts of Zawtar al-Sharqiyah came under Israeli artillery fire.

At 2310 hours the area between Srifa and Ghanduriyah came under Israeli artillery fire, as did the area of Kafr Sir towards the river.

At 1725 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells at Luwayzah from its position at Zafatah. Abd Allah Amin Hashim, born in 1936, suffered slight injuries in the left leg and right arm, and his home was damaged. A post of the 4th Intervention Detachment was hit by several pieces of shrapnel; a transformer was damaged; and a vehicle belonging to Ghalib Salim Hashim and a plantation wall belonging to Husayn Abd Allah Farhat were damaged by shrapnel.

At 0000 hours eight Israeli helicopters overflew Sultaniyah, Khirbat Silm, Qantarah and Tayyibah while Israeli warplanes flew overhead at low altitudes.

Between 0005 and 0245 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the South.

At 0430 hours an Israeli gunboat off Mansuri fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire in all directions.

Between 0530 and 0550 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells, 120-mm mortar rounds and direct-fire rounds and directed a number of bursts of fire at outlying areas of Mansuri, Majdal Zun, Jibal al-Butm, Zibqin, Shu'aytiyah and Ramadiyah from their positions at Tall Ya'qub and Hardhun.

At 0545 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm and 81-mm mortar rounds and directed a number of bursts of medium-weapons fire at the easternmost neighbourhood of Kafr Tibnit, Mayfadun, Zawtar al-Sharqiyah and Wadi al-Jarrah from their positions at Zafatah, Burj hill and Ali al-Tahir hill. In the shelling of Kafr Tibnit Master Sergeant Hasan Abd al-Karim Yasin was wounded. He was taken in serious condition to Hammud hospital in Sidon for medical attention.

Between 0120 and 0710 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 39 120-mm rounds at Jabal Jabbur and Jabal Bir al-Dahr from Abu Qamhah. The Resistance also fired several rockets in the direction of the occupied strip from areas along the Litani river opposite Zillaya and Yuhmur.

At 0730 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the area between Yuhmur and Suhmur, firing an air-to-surface missile.

At 0525 hours the outskirts of Mansuri came under Israeli machine-gun fire and the Jubb al-Suwayd area came under Israeli artillery fire from positions in the occupied strip.

Damage

At 0545 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm and 81-mm mortar rounds and directed a number of bursts of medium-weapons fire at the easternmost neighbourhood of Kafr Tibnit, at outlying areas of Kafr Tibnit, Mayfadun and Zawtar al-Sharqiyah and their outskirts and at Wadi al-Hijarah from its positions at Burj hill and Ali al-Tahir hill. In the shelling, Master Sergeant Hasan Abd al-Karim Yasin was wounded. He was taken in serious condition to Hammud hospital in Sidon for medical attention.

At 0730 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the area between Yuhmur and Suhmur, firing an air-to-surface missile. Najib Muhammad, 26, from Suhmur, was wounded in the attack and was taken to Parhat hospital in Kamid al-Lawz.

At 0545 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired shells at the easternmost neighbourhood of Kafr Tibnit from its positions at Burj hill, Ali al-Tahir hill and Zafatah. A number of occupied dwellings were hit and sustained serious damage. They belonged to Alawiyah Abd al-Jalil Paqih (whose mother, Zaynab, is 70 years old) and Jabir Salih Jabir (born in 1927 and mother's name Kamilah) . A shop belonging to Husayn Salih Jabir (born in 1945) was also damaged. A number of vehicles were damaged by shrapnel: a Mercedes car belonging to Husayn Salih Jabir; a Volvo belonging to Jihad Jabir Jabir; a Volvo belonging to Hasan Jabir Jabir; and a pick-up belonging to Murtada Sulayman Tabaja. All of the owners were from Kafr Tibnit. Serious damage was also done to electricity and telephone lines in the town. A mortar round fired from a Lahad militia post also impacted in the Zuhur neighbourhood in Nabatiyah al-Pawqa, causing serious damage to four occupied dwellings. The owners were: Master Sergeant Fu'ad Ghandur, of Army general headquarters, and his brother, Master Sergeant Hasan Ghandur; a person called Jamal (born in 1963 and mother's name Rajihah) ; and Muhammad Ali Ghandur (horn in 1967 and mother's name Maryam) .

Between 0500 and 0715 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and two direct-fire rounds and directed a number of bursts of medium-weapons fire at outlying areas of Kafra, Haddatha, Yatar, Jumayjimah, Rumin, Mayfadun, Wadi al-Qaysiyah, Wadi al-Kafur, areas along the Tasah spring and the area around Sujud hill from their positions at Tall Ya'qub, Markaba, Shurayfah, Ruways and Razlan hill. In the shelling a direct-fire round impacted in a garden in Rumin belonging to Ali Hasan Shukrun, causing serious damage. In the same town an occupied dwelling belonging to Abbas Mahmud Shukrun was also hit by several pieces of shrapnel.

Between 0530 and 0600 the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 81-mm mortar rounds and directed bursts of fire from its positions at Razlan hill and Abbali hill.

At 0600 hours Israeli occupation forces fired 26 120-mm mortar rounds and several 155-mm shells at Bir al-Dahr from Ibl al-Saqi and Abu Qamhah.

At 0635 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 40 120-mm mortar rounds at areas along the Litani river from its positions at Ahmadiyah hill and Abu Qamhah.

At 0700 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 14 120-mm mortar rounds from its position at Abu Qamhah.

Between 0640 and 0830 hours an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft overflew Nabatiyah, Tibnin and Tyre.

Between 0825 and 0830 hours Israeli occupation forces fired four 155-mm artillery shells at Wadi al-Qaysiyah from their position at the Markaba checkpoint.

At 0740 hours several artillery shells fired from occupation emplacements at Balat impacted in the outskirts of Haddatha.

At 1020 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the Tyre area at low altitudes.

Between 0710 and 1300 hours warplanes overflew the South and the Western Bekaa.

At 1000 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells, 81-mm and 120-mm mortar rounds and direct-fire rounds and directed bursts of fire at Jabal al-Rafi', the Arabsalim vicinity, areas along the Zahrani river, Wadi al-Kafur and the Army's Dahr al-Hariq area outside Kafr Rumman from its positions at Zafatah, Suwayda hill and Tahrah hill. In the shelling of the Arabsalim vicinity the government school and its surrounding wall were hit by two direct-fire rounds and seriously damaged. Four pupils suffered from nervous collapse, including Marwah Hasan, 13, and her sister Malak, 9, and they were taken to Nabatiyah government hospital. A dispensary being built by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs was hit by a number of pieces of shrapnel, and electricity lines in the town were badly damaged.

Between 1540 and 1600 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia and Israeli occupation forces fired several 120-mm mortar rounds and 155-mm artillery shells and directed a number of bursts of medium-weapons fire at Mazra'at Uqmata and the Razlan vicinity from their positions at Shurayfah, Rayhan, Zafatah, Razlan hill and Suwayda hill.

Between 1700 and 1740 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia and Israeli occupation forces fired several 120-mm and 81-mm mortar rounds and directed bursts of medium-weapons fire at outlying areas of Yatar, Qabrikha, Majdal Silm, Jibal al-Butm, Zibqin and Majdal Zun and their outskirts from their positions at Tall Ya'qub, Dahr al-Maydan, Muhaysibat, the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint and the Markaba checkpoint. In the outskirts of Qabrikha, the outer walls of three unoccupied dwellings and the town mosque were damaged and some window panes were broken. The dwellings belong to Abbas Mustafa Mansur, Talib Ali al-Zayn and Yasir Talib al-Zayn. In Majdal Silm, Amani Ibrahim Haraz was hit in the right cheek by a piece of shrapnel and was taken to Tibnin government hospital for medical attention. Pour dwellings, those of Abd al-Hasan Muhammad Ali Mansur, Muhsin Ali Khayr, Yusuf Hashim Hammadah and Muhammad Amin Mawali, were badly damaged.

At 1755 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Humin and Shukin from its position at Zafatah.

Between 1805 and 1845 hours Israeli warplanes attacked outlying areas of Yatar and Jibal al-Butm, firing six air-to-surface missiles.

At 1835 hours Israeli warplanes attacked an outlying area of Shukin (Tall Hafur), firing an air-to-surface missile.

At 2000 hours elements from the security service of the collaborators in the Lahad militia in Naqurah in the occupied strip arrested Husayn Mahmud Awwadah, a resident of the town who is some 30 years old and is employed there as a pharmacist, and took him to Khiyam prison.

Between 0000 and 0615 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 18 120mm mortar rounds at an area west of Jabbur from its position at Abu Qamhah.

Between 0545 and 0615 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired eight 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Yatar, Jibal al-Butm, Majdal Zun and Izziyah from their position at Tall Ya'qub.

Between 0000 and 0645 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 10 81-mm and four 120-mm mortar rounds and 57 155-mm artillery shells at the Dallafah spring, hill 910, Jabal Abu Rashid, Jabal Jabbur, Bir al-Dahr, areas along the Litani river and Birkat Jabbur from its positions at Abu Qamhah and Ahmadiyah. The militia also fired several bursts of 12.7-mm fire at the Mimis ridge and Wadi al-Fatir from its positions in the Zimriya hills.

Between 0510 and 0535 the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells, seven direct-fire rounds and 10 mortar rounds at outlying areas of Zibqin, Majdal Zun, Mansuri, Luwayzah and Rayhan from its positions at Zafatah, Shamin and Shama'.

At 0840 hours Israeli warplanes attacked outlying areas of Zibqin, firing an air-to-surface missile.

At 1035 hours Israeli warplanes attacked outlying areas of Zibqin, firing an air-to-surface missile. Two Israeli warships were seen three kilometres off Mansuri.

At 1115 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired a direct-fire round at a post of the Fijian contingent of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in an outlying area of Buyut al-Siyad. Serious damage was done to the post.

Between 1145 and 1230 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the Shuf at very high altitudes.

At 0130 hours Israeli warplanes attacked Jabal al-Rafi' in the Iqlim al-Tuffah heights, firing air-to-surface missiles.

At 0525 hours Wadi al-Qaysiyah and the outskirts of Jumayjimah and Majdal Silm came under Israeli artillery bombardment.

At 0545 hours the outskirts of Majdal Zun and Mansuri came under Israeli artillery fire. At the same time the outskirts of Zibqin came under helicopter-launched rocket fire. The Luwayzah heights, Mlita and the Murabba'ah area came under Israeli artillery fire from positions opposite.

At 0550 hours most of the villages in the western sector came under concentrated Israeli fire while Israeli helicopters overflew Haddatha, Haris, Kafra, Yatar, Jibal al-Butm, Zibqin and Mansuri.

At 0605 hours the Wadi al-Kafur area came under Israeli artillery fire.

At 0610 hours the Resistance fired several rockets at the Bayyadah and Hardhun positions.

At 0700 hours two helicopters overflew the area opposite Quiaylah while the area of the Quiaylah intersection came under artillery fire from Israeli emplacements in the occupied strip. In the shelling, Ibrahim Shihab, a 25-year-old man from Mansuri, was badly wounded. He was taken to the Jabal Amil hospital in Tyre. Aliyah Darwish, a 30-year-old woman, was taken to the Jabal Najm hospital in Tyre with serious injuries. Her child, Diyar Suwan, 5, was also injured in the shelling of the area. Schools were closed because of the prevailing situation.

At 0640 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the outskirts of Yatar and Zibqin, Wadi Shama' and a plantation near Quiaylah. Israeli gunboats patrolled the coast off Quiaylah.

At 0650 hours the Sawwan area between Zawtar and Shukin came under Israeli artillery fire from occupation positions in the border strip.

At 0655 hours the area opposite the Shaqif al-Naml position, the Asi area between Kafra and Jibal al-Butm, the area around Kassarat in the southernmost neighbourhood of Kafr Rumman, the outskirts of Majdal Silm and Jumayjimah, Wadi al-Qaysiyah and the lowlands in outlying areas of Mansuri came under Israeli artillery fire.

At 0720 hours an Israeli helicopter fired an air-to-surface missile at the approach to Quiaylah. It hit the steps of a commercial establishment belonging to Kamil Jamil Abu Khalil, 70, a local resident, and serious damage was done to the walls.

Between 0720 and 0725 hours Israeli occupation forces fired four 155-mm artillery shells at Wadi al-Qaysiyah (west of Majdal Silm) from their position at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint. The Lahad collaborators' militia also fired artillery shells at outlying areas of Luwayzah and Qa'qa'iyat al-Jisr from its position at Zafatah.

Between 0815 and 0905 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the South and the Western Bekaa at various altitudes. They attacked Mazra'at Uqmata and areas along the Tasah spring, firing four air-to-surface missiles at Jabal Rashid.

Between 1430 and 1450 hours elements of the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 25 120-mm rounds at an area beyond Jabal al-Dahr from their position at Abu Qamhah.

Between 0540 and 0630 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells, mortar rounds and direct-fire rounds and directed of bursts of fire at outlying areas of Mayfadun, Zawtar al-Gharbiyah, Zawtar al-Sharqiyah, Yatar, Kafra, Haddatha, Ayta al-Jabal, Bra'shit, Haris, Jibal al-Butm, Zibqin, Majdal Zun, Quiaylah and Mansuri from their positions at Zafatah, Tall Ya'qub, the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint, Ba'lul hill, Dabshah hill, Bayt Yahun and Yarin. In Mansuri, Alya Mustafa Darwish (34 years old and mother's name Samirah) and her son, Diyab Nazih Suwan, 6, suffered miscellaneous injuries and were taken to Najm hospital in Tyre for medical attention.

Between 0615 and 0630 hours two Israeli helicopters fired six air-to-surface missiles at outlying areas of Yatar, Jibal al-Butm, Zibqin and Mansuri. A Fijian soldier received miscellaneous wounds, and serious damage was done to positions of the UNIFIL Fijian contingent.

Between 0630 and 0720 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the South.

Between 0640 and 0645 hours Israeli warplanes attacked Yatar, Jibal al-Butm and Zibqin in several waves, firing four air-to-surface missiles.

It was reported that two missiles impacted at the approach to Ibl al-Saqi in the occupied strip near the position of an Indian UNIFIL unit, damaging electricity lines.

In the Israeli shelling the walls of two unoccupied dwellings in Bra'shit were hit by several pieces of shrapnel and window panes were broken. The owners were Abd al-Karim Khalil Shihab and Kamal Talib Farhat. Electricity lines in the town were also damaged.

In the Israeli artillery bombardment of outlying areas of Zibqin and its outskirts, Zaynab Barakat, 15, was wounded in various parts of the body. She was taken to the Jabal Amil hospital in Tyre for medical attention.

Information was received that four members of the Resistance had been killed as a result of the recent Israeli attacks on the area between Zibqin and Quiaylah and four others when a Resistance carrier and an artillery emplacement in the area had been targeted.

In the shelling of outlying areas of Haddatha three occupied dwellings were badly damaged. They belonged to Qasim Muhammad Nasir (born in 1929 and mother's name Zaynab) and to his sons, Muhammad Qasim Nasir (born in 1963) and Has an Qasim Nasir (bom in 1971 and mother's name Zaynab). A black Mercedes 300 belonging to Muhammad Qasim Nasir was also damaged, but no lives were lost.

In the shelling of Buyut al-Siyad hill a number of occupied dwellings were damaged. The owners were Ahmad Abd al-Hasan Zabd (born in 1941), Muhammad Ahmad Barakat, Sharif Mustafa Safi al-Din and Samih Jabir. An unoccupied dwelling belonging to Husayn al-Uqaybah was badly damaged, and window panes were broken and the exterior walls were hit by numerous pieces of shrapnel. The windshield of a Toyota van was broken, and a motorcycle belonging to Ja'far Abbas was set on fire.

Between 0410 and 0600 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia directed bursts of fire at outlying areas of Majdal Zun, Murabba'ah and Mayfadun and at Wadi al-Kafur from its positions at Zafatah, Hardhun hill and Yarin.

Between 0430 and 0510 hours an Israeli gunboat off Mansuri fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire in all directions.

At 0750 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired eight artillery shells at outlying areas of Haddatha and Tibnin from their positions at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint and Saff al-Hawwa'.

At 1945 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired six 155-mm artillery shells and nine 120-mm mortar rounds at outlying areas of Zibqin, Izziyah and Buyut al-Siyad from their positions at Tall Ya'qub, Radar hill and Yarin. At the same time two Israeli warships off Mansuri fired 60 artillery shells at outlying areas of the same towns.

At 2005 hours Israeli warplanes attacked areas along the Tasah spring, firing an air-to-surface missile.

At 1930 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar rounds at Jabal al-Rafi' from its position at Zafatah.

At 1955 hours two Israeli helicopters fired two air-to-surface missiles at outlying areas of Majdal Zun.

At 2100 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia directed bursts of fire at Yuhmur and its outskirts from its position at Arnun.

In the shelling of Kafr Tibnit two occupied dwellings were badly damaged. The owners were Husayn Muhammad Ibrahim al-Faqih and Muhammad Murtada Tabbajah, both natives and residents of the town. Muhammad Tabbajah's Renault-13 vehicle was also hit by a number of pieces of shrapnel.

At 1115 hours a shell impacted on an animal-feed store opposite the House of the Teacher in Nabatiyah al-Fawqa. The store belonged to Muhammad Mahmud al-Harashi, a native of the town, and it was seriously damaged. The owner's son, Qasim, suffered injuries to various parts of the body and was taken to Nabatiyah government hospital. A pick-up truck belonging to Muhammad al-Harashi was also badly damaged. The shelling also led to the cancellation of classes at the Lebanese University and at the model school.

Between 0030 and 0605 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia in the positions at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint, the Bustan checkpoint, Dabshah hill, Tahrah hill, Burj hill and Ali al-Tahir hill fired several 155-mm artillery shells and direct-fire rounds and directed bursts of fire at outlying areas of Yatar, Majdal Zun, Tibnin, Arnun and Nabatiyah al-Fawqa and at areas around their positions.

Between 0100 and 0200 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the South and two combat helicopters overflew the areas around the positions of the occupying Israeli forces at Qal'at al-Shaqif (Beaufort Castle), Burj hill, Dabshah hill, Ali al-Tahir hill and Tahrah hill before leaving in the direction of the occupied strip.

Between 0640 and 0740 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 14 155-mm shells and 28 120-mm mortar rounds at Jabal Bir al-Dahr, the area around Zillaya and areas to the east of Suhmur and Yuhmur from its positions at Abu Qamhah and Ahmadiyah hill. Some eight 120-mm mortar rounds impacted near the Army post in Zillaya and an M-113 armoured personnel carrier was hit by several pieces of shrapnel.

At 0630 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 160-mm mortar rounds at outlying areas of Sujud and Mlikh and at Mazra'at Uqmata from its positions at Shurayfah and Ayshiyah.

Between 0725 and 0825 hours Israeli occupation forces fired seven artillery shells at Wadi al-Qaysiyah (west of Majdal Silm) from their position at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint.

Between 0900 and 0930 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several rounds of miscellaneous calibre at outlying areas of Shaqra and at its outskirts from its positions at Hula and Qaba'. A 60-mm mortar round impacted near an occupied dwelling in Shaqra belonging to Ali Muhammad Nur al-Din, seriously damaging the house. The owner's wife, Halla Muhammad Najib Ashur, suffered slight injuries from flying glass.

Between 0945 and 1005 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired seven 81-mm mortar rounds at outlying areas of Shaqra from Hula.

Between 1030 and 1200 hours Israeli warplanes overflew all parts of Lebanon at very high altitudes.

At 1220 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the outskirts of Qussaya.

Between 0650 and 0735 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Mayfadun and at Wadi al-Kafur and Wadi al-Qaysiyah from their positions at Zafatah and the Markaba checkpoint.

Between 0710 and 0740 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and mortar rounds and directed bursts of fire at outlying areas of Yatar, Kafra, Haris and Haddatha and their outskirts, at Jabal al-Za'tar and at outlying areas of Tibnin and its outskirts from its positions at Jabal Sujud, Bayt Lif, Ruways, the Bustan checkpoint and the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint. An unoccupied dwelling in Yatar belonging to Mustafa Muhsin Kurani was hit, and windows were broken in the town's government school.

At 0815 hours Yuhmur and Zillaya came under Israeli artillery fire and three shells impacted.

At 1430 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired four 120-mm mortar rounds at Zillaya from Abu Qamhah.

The following were injured in the shelling: Sadiq Husayn Parhat (born in 1981), from Bra'shit; Husayn Ahmad Farhat (born in 1980), from Bra'shit; Abbas Husayn Huli (born in 1974), from Tayyibah; Husam Husayn Farhat (born in 1982), from Bra'shit; and Ali Husayn Karram (born in 1973), from Jwayya.

Between 1550 and 1630 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired shells at outlying areas of Qallayah and Dayr Kifa from their positions at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint, Bayt Lif and a point south of the Bustan checkpoint.

Between 1650 and 1720 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 15 155-mm shells at outlying areas of Haris, Kafra, Sribbin and Yatar from its position at the Bustan checkpoint. In the shelling of outlying areas of Sribbin a child, Husayn Mahmud Abbas (born in 1996) as well as Ali Abd Allah Jaffal, from Rshaf, and Husayn Ali Karnib, from Haddatha, were killed.

Between 1750 and 1800 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 12 120-mm mortar rounds at areas along the Litani river, Zillaya, an area west of Qilya, an area south of Yuhmur and Jabal al-Dahr from Abu Qamhah.

At 1815 hours an Israeli tank positioned at Misgav Am, south of Udaysah, launched a direct-fire round at a bulldozer working on the road. Its owner, Sulayman Abd al-Rasul Rimal (born in Udaysah in 1965) was killed and the bulldozer was set on fire.

Between 1840 and 1910 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 32 120-mm and 155-mm rounds at Jabal Jabbur and Jabal al-Dahr from Ahmadiyah hill and Abu Qamhah.

Between 1855 and 1920 hours Israeli forces fired several artillery shells at outlying areas of Yatar, Bayt Yahun, Kafr Tibnit and Bra'shit and at Wadi al-Qaysiyah from their positions at the Bustan, Mays al-Jabal and Markaba checkpoints.

Between 1950 and 2020 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia and Israeli occupation forces fired several artillery shells at Wadi al-Kafur and at outlying areas of Bra'shit, Haddatha, Haris and Bayt Yahun and their outskirts from their positions at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint and Zafatah. In Bayt Yahun one person was injured, namely Nasri Mahmud Abu Diyad from Bint Jubayl.

At 2135 hours Israeli warplanes attacked Mazra'at Uqmata.

At 2350 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several shells at Mazra'at Uqmata, Sujud hill, Mlikh and areas along the Tasah spring from their positions at Rayhan, Ayshiyah, Tall al-Abbali, Razlan hill and Shurayfah.

At 0005 hours Israeli warplanes attacked an ambulance near the Lebanese Army's barrier at the approach to Zawtar al-Sharqiyah without causing casualties. Israeli artillery also shelled a civilian vehicle in Ayn al-Samahiyah outside Zawtar.

At 0050 hours Israeli occupation forces blew up the Mahafir position in the Jarmaq area. which had served them as an artillery emplacement,.

At 0300 hours Israeli aircraft bombed the Shurayfah position and proceeded to destroy it completely.

At 0335 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the Shurayfah hill position after Israeli occupation forces had vacated it, firing an air-to-surface missile.

At 0920 hours a shell impacted in Sarba near the fuel station, causing serious damage and disrupting the electricity supply.

At 1005 hours Israeli occupation forces shelled the Suwayda position with heavy artillery.

At 1025 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the Suwayda position. Abbas Ali Fujul, from Arabsalim, was injured and was taken to the hospital for medical attention.

At 1030 hours Payiz Sa'd al-Din Yusuf (born in 1984 and mother's name Fatimah) and Hasan Salman Salman (born in 1981 and mother's name Fatimah), both of them natives and residents of Shihabiyah, were brought to Tibnin government hospital. The former had lost a foot and the latter had been hit by several pieces of shrapnel when a land mine exploded as they were entering the vacated Lahad militia post in Bra'shit.

At 1145 hours the outskirts of Mimis came under rocket fire. The inhabitants took alarm and stayed in their homes, and a fire broke out in the town that caused the school to be closed.

Between 1100 hours and 1200 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm shells and 120-mm mortar rounds at Mazra'at Uqmata, the area around Sujud hill and areas along the Tasah spring from their positions at Shurayfah, Zafatah, Rayhan and Ayshiyah.

Between 1215 and 1240 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several shells at Jabal al-Dahr and the Marj Zuhur vicinity from its positions at Zaghlah and Abu Qamhah.

At 1225 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the Mimis road, firing four air-to-surface missiles.

At 1435 hours Israeli warplanes attacked Mlita hill, firing an air-to-surface missile.

At 1445 hours Israeli warplanes attacked Jabal Balat, which had been vacated by the Lahad militia, firing an air-to-surface missile. Husayn Muhammad Hassun was wounded.

At 1510 hours Israeli warplanes attacked Mazra'at Uqmata. firing an air-to-surface missile.

At 1400 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the bridge on the Fatir river in an outlying area of Mimis.

At 1600 hours outlying areas of Mirwahin and Harun al-Ras came under Israeli artillery fire from inside the occupied territories. Isam Muhammad Alawin (born in 1979) and the child Hassan Muhammad Suwaydan (born in 1992) were injured.

At 1130 hours Israeli occupation forces fired a direct-fire round at a Mercedes car on the Hula – Mays al-Jabal road from their position at Manarah. It was being driven by the journalist Abd Taqqush from Ras Beirut, a correspondent for the BBC. He was killed instantly and the car was destroyed by fire.

At 1630 hours the abandoned Army barracks in Nabatiyah came under Israeli artillery fire.

Between 1600 and 1700 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several shells at the area around the abandoned Army barracks in Nabatiyah from their positions at Tall Ya'qub and the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint.

Between 1710 and 1720 hours Israeli warplanes attacked and destroyed the Abu Qamhah position vacated by Israeli forces.

At 2040 hours Israeli warplanes attacked outlying areas Yatar, firing an air-to-surface missile.

At 2025 hours there were reports of heavy shelling of the Hima Arnun area and the outskirts of Kafr Tibnit from Israeli occupation positions.

Electricity lines in the area were damaged in the shelling.

At 2115 hours the Israeli occupation army and the collaborators in the Lahad militia blew up the Rayhan barracks, which they had used as a base. In homes and in the Rayhan post building, window panes were broken, doors were blown off their hinges and walls were fissured.

At 2045 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the area between Hinniyah and Zibqin in three waves, targeting the military vehicles seized from the Lahad militia by members of the Resistance.

At 2025 hours the Murabba'ah area between Shukin and Qa'qa'iyat al-Jisr came under artillery fire from positions of the Israeli occupation and the Lahad collaborators' militia.

At 2055 hours the Jabal al-Ahmar area and Wadi Ayn al-Dhahab came under Israeli artillery fire from occupation emplacements.

At 2300 hours the area around the abandoned Army barracks in Nabatiyah al-Fawqa came under artillery fire from Israeli occupation positions.

At 2310 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the position at Qal'at al-Shaqif (Beaufort Castle) and several shells impacted in the eastern outskirts of Kafr Rumman.

Between 2050 and 2110 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired 14 shells at an area west of Jabal Jabbur, outlying areas of Mazra'at Lusya and Jabal Bir al-Dahr from its position at Abu Qamhah. Israeli warplanes also overflew the Mayfadun, Abu Rashid and Jabbur areas before returning in the direction of the occupied strip.

Between 2100 and 2115 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at Wadi al-Qaysiyah and outlying areas of Haddatha from their position at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint. A member of the Resistance was wounded and taken to Tibnin hospital.

Between 2115 and 2135 hours two Israeli warships off Mansuri fired 15 artillery shells at outlying areas of Majdal Zun, Mansuri and Buyut al-Siyad. The Lahad collaborators' militia also fired 12 120-mm mortar rounds from its position at Yarin and from outlying areas of Shama' that impacted near the barrier at the Mansuri crossing operated by the Intelligence Branch for the South.

At 2120 and 2130 hours Israeli warplanes attacked Wadi al-Qaysiyah and Mazra'at Uqmata.

Between 2030 and 2125 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad collaborators' militia fired eight artillery shells and 13 mortar rounds at areas around the Hardhun, Rajmin and Tayr Harfa positions from their positions at the Jisr checkpoint and Yarin and from outlying areas of Shama'. The militia also directed a number of bursts of medium-weapons fire from Bayaddah at the Mansuri crossing operated by the Intelligence Branch for the South.

At 2215 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired four 120-mm mortar rounds at the Mansuri barrier operated by the Intelligence Branch for the South from outlying areas of Bayyadah. The walls of one room were damaged by shrapnel.

At 2244 hours Israeli warplanes attacked Wadi al-Hijarah and outlying areas of Zawtar and Mayfadun, firing an air-to-surface missile.

Between 2115 and 2240 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells at Wadi al-Hijarah and Wadi al-Kafur from its position at Zafatah.

Between 2225 and 2240 hours Israeli occupation forces fired four 150-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Haddatha from their position at the Bustan checkpoint.

At 2330 hours the Lahad collaborators' militia fired several shells at outlying areas of Habbush and Kafr Rumman and at areas along the Zahrani river from its position at Suwayda hill.

At 2330 and 2350 hours two Israeli warships off Mansuri fired 16 artillery shells at outlying areas of Mazra'at Buyut al-Siyad, Mansuri and Majdal Zun.

At 2330 hours the Sawwan area and the pool at Zawtar al-Sharqiyah came under Israeli artillery fire.

At 2345 hours the road from the roundabout at the approach to Kafr Tibnit to the Arnun pool came under heavy artillery fire while Israeli helicopters and warplanes overflew the area. The Israeli forces blew up the Dimashqiyah and Ayshiyah positions after vacating them, and the Dabshah position and the Ali al-Tahir compound came under heavy artillery fire from occupation forces.

Israeli warplanes attacked an M-113 armoured personnel carrier on the Rshaf-Dibil road. One person, Abd al-Rahman Muhammad Taqqush, was killed and six others were wounded. The wounded were: Husayn Muhammad Hasan (born in 1965 and mother's name Na'imah), from Quiaylah; Husam Muhammad Suwaydan (born in 1996 and mother's name Fatimah), from Yatar; Isam Muhammad Alwiyah (born in 1979 and mother's name Maryam), from Marun al-Ra's; Muhammad Hasan Mansur (born in 1974 and mother's name Khadijah); Ahmad Muhammad Gharrar; and Imad Abd al-Majid Husayn.

At 1100 hours an anti-personnel mine laid by Israeli forces and those collaborating with them detonated in a side street in Bra'shit as residents were attempting to return to inspect their homes and property. Fayiz Yusuf (born in 1984) lost a foot, and Hasan Salman (born in 1981) was seriously wounded.

At 1445 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the town of Jabal Balat near Mirwahin, firing an air-to-surface missile in the vicinity of the former positions of the withdrawing occupation forces. Husayn Hassun was injured in various parts of the body.

At 1530 hours the Israeli occupation's artillery fired several 155-mm artillery shells at Mirwahin from emplacements inside Israel. Isam Alwiyah (born in 1979) and the child Hassan Suwaydan (born in 1992) were badly wounded.

24 May 2000

At 0000 hours Israeli occupation forces blew up the installations located to the south-west of Shaqif hill.

At 0005 and 0010 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the Rayhan barracks vacated by Israeli forces, Sawwan al-Jawhariyah, outlying areas of Mayfadun, Wadi al-Hijarah and Zawtar. Israeli helicopters fired several air-to-surface missiles at Hima Arnun and directed a number of bursts of medium-weapons fire at the area around Burj hill. Occupation forces also fired several 155-mm artillery shells at Hima Arnun, outlying areas of Arnun and Yuhmur, the Yuhmur lowland, Ali al-Tahir hill and Burj hill from their position at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint.

Between 2055 and 2400 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at the area around Ghandur hill in Nabatiyah al-Fawqa, Wadi al-Kafur, the vicinity of Qal'at al-Shaqif (Beaufort Castle) and Dabshah hill from their position at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint.

At 2330 and 2400 hours Israeli occupation forces vacated their positions at Dabshah hill and Izziyah hill (Dayr Mimas) and endeavoured to blow them up. The occupying forces also proceeded to blow up the Ayshiyah barracks.

25 May 2000

At 1535 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several artillery shells at Marun al-Ra's from inside Israel. Muhammad Mansur (born in 1974) was badly wounded.

27 May 2000

At 2100 hours Israeli occupation forces, having vacated their position in the Shibi locality of Shab'a. blew it up.

28 May 2000

At 1110 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the Junayh area, breaking the sound barrier.

At 1105 hours four Israeli warplanes entered Lebanese airspace 12 to 14 nautical miles off the coast at undetermined altitudes and remained there until 1130 hours.

Between 1200 and 1250 hours troops of the Israeli occupation fired three shots into the air at the Fatimah Gate.

Between 1330 and 1800 hours, as people were congregating at the Fatimah Gate, occupying Israeli forces proceeded to launch two percussion grenades and to fire several light-weapons rounds in the direction of the crowd. Ali Burjawi from Saksakiyah, Jihad al-Zayn from the Bekaa, Hasan Muhammad Hamiyah (born in 1981 and mother's name Suham), a certain Fadiya and Muhammad Ali Subhi Ni'mah (born in 1985) were wounded in various parts of the body.

29 May 2000

At 0900 hours Israeli occupation forces blew up an observation and communications tower at the Ibad position.

Like previous attacks, this series of outrages is in flagrant violation of the sovereignty and independence of Lebanon and in breach of the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, general international law, international humanitarian law and the fourth Geneva Convention of 1949.
