Letter dated 9 July 2003 from the Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General
On instructions from my Government, I have the honour to transmit to you herewith a statistical breakdown of the 62 violations of Lebanese territory that were committed on land, at sea and in the air by Israel during the month of June 2003 (see annex).
These continual Israeli breaches of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are in violation of the Blue Line and of the provisions of Security Council resolution 425 (1978), and they pose a threat to stability and promote a climate of tension in the region.
I should be grateful if you would have this letter and its annex circulated as a document of the General Assembly, under agenda item 36, and of the Security Council.
(Signed) Houssam Asaad Diab
Chargé d’affaires a.i.
