2002/244.  Human rights situation of the Lebanese detainees in Israel

At its 39th plenary meeting, on 25 July 2002, the Economic and Social Council, taking note of Commission on Human Rights resolution 2002/10 of 19 April 2002, 1/ endorsed the decision of the Commission to request the Secretary-General:

(a) To bring Commission resolution 2002/10 to the attention of the Government of Israel and to call upon it to comply with its provisions;

(b) To report to the General Assembly at its fifty-seventh session and to the Commission at its fifty-ninth session on the results of his efforts in this regard.
