Note verbale dated 19 September 1977 from the Permanent Representative of Egypt to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General

The Permanent Representative of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the United Nations presents his compliments to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and has the honour to request him to draw the attention of the Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Population of the Occupied Territories to the report published by the Swiss League for Human Rights about the common and systematic use of torture and other practices of expropriation, confiscation and destruction of Arab property committed by Israel against the population of the occupied territories.

This report was prepared by a four-man group headed by the League's President, Mr. Denis Payots and has been distributed to the press in Geneva on 12 September 1977.

The Permanent Representative of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the United Nations also requests the Secretary-General to have this note circulated as a document of the General Assembly under items 57 and 80 of the provisional agenda.
