  Pursuant to rule 11 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the Secretary-General is submitting the following summary statement.

  The Security Council resumed its consideration of the item at its 5160th meeting, held on 7 April 2005 in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations, having before it a letter dated 25 March 2005 from the Secretary-General addressed to the President of the Security Council (S/2005/203).

  The President drew attention to a draft resolution (S/2005/227) submitted by Denmark, France, Greece, Japan, the Philippines, Romania, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America.

  The Security Council proceeded to vote on draft resolution S/2005/227, and adopted it unanimously as resolution 1595 (2005) (for the text, see S/RES/1595 (2005); to be issued in Official Records of the Security Council, Resolutions and Decisions of the Security Council, 1 August 2004-31 July 2005 ).
