Letter dated 6 October 198l from the Chairman of the Committee
on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian
People addressed, to the Secretary-General
As Chairman of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian people, I wish to express my profound concern over the series of bomb attacks recently carried out against Palestinians based in Lebanon, and especially the explosion which is reported to have killed at least 50 persons and wounded more than 250 near the offices of the Palestine Liberation Organization in Beirut.
It is obvious that this violence, which the Committee strongly condemns, is the result of Israel's continued illegal occupation of Palestinian and Arab territories and of the policy it is pursuing in the region.
If such acts of violence are repeated, they can only exacerbate tension in the area. Emergency measures must be taken to put an end to the Israeli policies that are endangering international peace and security.
I should be grateful if you would kindly have this letter circulated as a document of the General Assembly, under agenda item 31, and of the Security Council.
