“Strengthening international support for a just and lasting solution of the question of Jerusalem”

The objective of the Meeting is to raise awareness of the international community for the significance of a just solution of the question of Jerusalem for resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and for achieving peace in the Middle East. The Organizers (UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Government of Turkey) wish to contribute to the current international efforts to achieve a permanent settlement of the question of Palestine by emphasizing the need for the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine in the borders of 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The Meeting will also look at the status of Jerusalem from a religious and legal perspective. The official languages of the Meeting will be Arabic, English and French.
