Further air violations of the Blue Line;

PRSG calls on Israel to cease air violations

Beirut, 15 January 2002 (UN Information Centre) — The Blue Line and Lebanese airspace were violated on five occasions yesterday by a total of 8 Israeli aircraft.

Some of these aircraft also created sonic booms in the capital Beirut.

The Personal Representative of the Secretary-General for southern Lebanon (PRSG), Mr. Staffan de Mistura, calls again on Israel to cease its violations of the Bine Line with such overflights.
