TIPH commemorates the killing of two Observers in 2002

On 26 March, 2014, TIPH members commemorated the tragic death of two of their Colleagues who were killed in the service of peace twelve years ago.

A ceremony, attended by Hanspeter Hirschi, Deputy Head of the Representative Office of Switzerland in Ramallah and by all TIPH staff, was held at the TIPH headquarters in Hebron in memory of the two fallen Colleagues.
The commemoration was followed by a shorter ceremony, attended by Mr. Hirschi and TIPH senior staff, at the location of the tragedy.

Catherine Berruex from Switzerland and Turgut Cengiz Toytunç from Turkey were shot and killed on Bypass Road 35 just outside Hebron. Hüseyin Ozarslan from Turkey was injured but survived the attack.

TIPH and the six participating countries Denmark, Norway, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey extend their thoughts to the families and friends of the victims.
