Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Charles Michel, Prime Minister of Belgium

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Charles Michel, Prime Minister of Belgium. They discussed current developments regarding the large movement of refugees and migrants towards Europe. The Secretary-General and Prime Minister also exchanged views on the situation in the Great Lakes region and in Mali, as well as Belgium’s support to UN peace operations. 

The Secretary-General welcomed Belgium’s support for the Plan of Action to Prevent Violent Extremism.
