Note to Correspondents on the OPCW-UN Joint Investigative Mechanism

The mandate of the OPCW-UN Joint Investigative Mechanism has been extended until 31 October 2016. The Security Council granted this short term extension under exceptional circumstances to allow for the completion of the Mechanism's fourth report. The report will be submitted through the Secretary-General to the Security Council for its consideration in due course.
