Peacebuilding Fund launches the Mid-term Review report of its Strategy 2020-24

30 March 2023

The Mid Term review of the Peacebuilding Fund’s (PBF) Strategy 2020-24 found that the priorities identified by the Fund in its Strategy remain relevant. It recognizes PBF’s role as a UN convenor, including through its innovative Strategic Results Frameworks, and regional and cross-border work. PBF’s expansion of CSO partnerships is also noted. A set of recommendations to further the second half of the Strategy cycle include continued focus on gender and youth empowerment and civil society engagement, building on demonstrated good results in UN mission transition settings, and strengthening work around design, monitoring, and measuring catalytic effects. In 2022 the Peacebuilding Fund embarked on an extensive external review process of its Strategy 2020-24. The Mid Term review report published this week, benefits from quantitative and qualitative feedback from a range of government partners, donors, and implementers. The PBF Secretariat has collaborated with partners to formulate the management response to the report, which is expected to be completed within four weeks.
