What we do
The United Nations Secretary-General has called for an ambitious reform of the Secretariat to transform it into a nimbler organization that is less focused on procedure and better serves the people of the world. Fundamental to this change is a culture of transparency and accountability.
On 1 January 2019, the Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMPSC) launched with three interlinked pillars:
- Programme Planning, Finance and Budget will provide strategic policy leadership in all areas of management through a clear, integrated global management strategy and policy framework
- Human Resources will champion, drive and support a results-oriented and risk-aware culture of continuous learning and accountability
- Business Transformation and Accountability will establish a culture in which innovation of business models can thrive throughout the United Nations Secretariat, with a strong focus on activities in the field
The Office of the Under-Secretary-General provides overall leadership and administration of the department as well as playing a key role in shaping organizational culture.
Umoja is a single, global solution that is enabling efficient and transparent management of the United Nation’s financial, human and physical resources and improving programmatic delivery.
