UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office condemns the recent issuing of the death sentence in Gaza – UK FCO statement/Non-UN document

Minister for the Middle East Tobias Ellwood condemns the recent issuing of the death sentence in Gaza 

Mr Ellwood said:

"I condemn the death sentence issued in Gaza on 17 August. This decision reflects a concerning trend of increasing use of the death penalty in Gaza since the start of this year.

It is the long-standing position of the UK to oppose the death penalty in all circumstances. We have repeatedly called for the de-facto authorities in Gaza to respect the Palestinian Authority’s moratorium on implementation of the death penalty.
