DEPUTY CONSUL GENERAL INAUGURATES WOMEN CO-OPERATIVES PROJECT IN JERUSALEM (08/09/07)

On Friday 07 September 2007, Deputy Consul General in Jerusalem Victoria Billing inaugurated food products and embroidery fair in Beit Hanina club in Jerusalem.

The fair was part of a series of exhibitions and activities intended to announce the launching of a British Consulate-funded project; "Women village co-operative products", and also help women co-operatives to better access the local markets.

The project aims to create a sustainable market share and help co-operatives create new business opportunities through enhanced commercial distribution and access to retail channels in the Palestinian territories.

During the opening, Victoria Billing expressed her happiness for participating in the event. She said: "I wish you luck in your efforts to improve the food products that you make, and I hope the project will help in creating new business opportunities for better sales and effective marketing".
