OIC Secretary-General, Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu condemns the Israeli crimes in occupied Palestine |
The Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, condemned the current Israeli occupation army’s land and air military excursion called “Operation Autumn Clouds” against the Palestinian people.
The Secretary-General requested the international community to intervene immediately in order to put an end to the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people, considered as a grave violation of Geneva Conventions relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War; to provide the necessary assistance to the Palestinian people and to lift the unjust embargo imposed on them.
The Secretary-General affirmed that the Middle East would never enjoy security and stability as long as the Arab-Israeli conflict persists and the Palestinian question remains without a just solution that restores to the Palestinian people their full rights.
The Secretary-General also requested the international community to put its pressure to bear on Israel in order to release the more than ten thousand Palestinian detainees held in Israeli prisons.
The Secretary-General called upon the Islamic world to take a unified position in support of the Palestinian people’s steadfastness until they obtain their independence and establish their independent State with al-Quds al-Sharif as its capital.
