Of note this week
Gaza Strip:
− Intensification of hostilities in the Gaza Strip:
− A total of three Palestinians were killed and 23 injured during internal violence, including two women killed in honour related crimes.
− The BBC’s Gaza correspondent, Alan Johnston, has been missing for more than eight weeks after being abducted on 12 March. This week his capturers made demands for the release of Muslim prisoners in British jails.
West Bank:
− Three Palestinians were killed by an IDF Undercover Unit in Jenin when the Unit fired at their vehicle. A total of 17 Palestinians were injured by the IDF and Israeli settlers.
− An Israeli man guarding a gas station in Ramallah governorate was seriously injured when unknown gunmen opened fire at him from a passing vehicle. The IDF subsequently put the nearby Deir Qaddis village under curfew.
Ongoing and escalating PA strikes:
− Industrial action amongst government workers continues across the oPt (teachers, healthcare practitioners and other PA workers in the West Bank and municipalities in the Gaza Strip).
