Declaration by the Presidency of the European Union on the terrorist attacks in Egypt |

Speaking as President of the Council of Ministers of the European Union, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bernard Bot expressed his shock over the attacks of 8 October on the Egyptian tourist resorts of Taba, Nuweiba and Ras Satan. Minister Bot strongly condemned these attacks, in which a large number of innocent civilians were killed and injured. He offered his condolences to the relatives of the victims. Minister Bot reiterated that the European Union fully and unconditionally rejects all forms of terrorism. He said he hoped that the Egyptian government would be able to find and bring to justice the perpetrators of these attacks as soon as possible.
