THE CRISIS IN YARMOUK CAMP
5 JUNE 2014
Our spokesperson Chris Gunness has the following to say on the situation in Yarmouk Camp
"There was no UNRWA distribution of humanitarian assistance in Yarmouk today for the fourth consecutive day, following confirmation from the authorities that operations would be suspended during the election period.
"While noting the authorities' advice that distribution of humanitarian assistance in Yarmouk is likely to be affected by national events over the coming few days, UNRWA is requesting that its humanitarian activities must resume as soon as possible. All concerned parties must be committed to ensuring continuous, substantial and safe humanitarian access to Yarmouk.
