85. Mr. AKRAM (Pakistan), speaking on behalf of the member States of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), except Morocco, said that, at the preceding meeting, the Secretary-General of OIC had given a detailed analysis of the importance of human rights in Islam.
86. The members of OIC were concerned about violations of the rights of Islamic peoples, especially Palestinians and other Arabs living under Israeli occupation. They called on Israel to cease the harassment against those peoples and hoped that Israel would rapidly withdraw from southern Lebanon in accordance with its promises and that an early agreement could be reached with Syria on the Golan Heights. …
