Introduction of draft resolution entitled “Economic and social repercussions of the Israeli occupation on the living conditions of the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem and the Arab population in the occupied Syrian Golan” (E/2010/L.31)
25. Mr. Khalil (Egypt), introducing draft resolution E/2010/L.31, said that Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Tunisia and Yemen had joined the sponsors. The draft text reflected many of the conclusions contained in the Secretary-General’s report on the impact of the Israeli occupation on the Palestinian people (E/2010/13-A/65/72) and was similar to resolution 2009/34 adopted the previous year, with some amendments in a number of the preambular paragraphs and in paragraphs 1, 2, 5, 10, 11, 14 and 15. Two new preambular paragraphs had also been added, as well as paragraph 2 bis. He announced an editorial change to the seventeenth preambular paragraph and briefly reviewed the operative portion of the draft resolution.
